Though it wasn't officially confirmed, it's been pretty clear for a while that Britney Spears would be joining the judges' panel for the next season of "The X Factor," but that fourth slot was still a complete mystery. A couple of weeks ago, rumors narrowed it down to Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Avril Lavigne. Now TMZ reports that Lovato has it on lock, and should make the announcement any day now.

It's unclear how much Lovato signed on for, but Spears' contract is reportedly worth $15 million. We doubt Lovato landed a figure like Britney's, but we're interested to find out which judge will have the strongest following going in. And for Demi Lovato fans, no need to worry about her upcoming tour. TMZ assures us "The X Factor" won't interfere. Which new "X Factor" judge do you think will be better: Demi Lovato or Britney Spears?

i really love britney spears very much as a fan i've been a fan since 2004 or 2005 one but i can't remember but i've became a fan every since and always be her fan

she's young, she's talented, she has her problems but oddly enough not as insane as Britney. I think Demi's short time in Hollywood has actually made her better since she's not as corrupted as Brit-Brit and can relate and give better advice to up and commers since it was only a few years ago she was just there.

Britney is sad I loved her in the beginning of her career but not she's just a sad shell of a woman. She's the results of what can happen when Hollywood gets a hold of you and doesn't let go no matter how used up you are . Sad. I don't think I want to see her cold dead eyes on a reality show.

This is really saying NOTHING however, since both are totally a mistake. Demi has about 5 minutes of real experience..and Brittney's not really on top of anything, when it comes to her career. Demi's popularity and Brittney's former top popularity is why Simon went for them. They are hoping to bring more of the younger crowd and get more attention, overall. May work. May not. I'm leaning toward, WON'T. But, we will see.

Britney definitely has more experience but somehow I imagine her just making positive remarks that aren't constructive..while Demi might actually be honest with the contestants . Could be wrong though

Although i don't particularly like Britney at this time, she knows what it takes to get to the top, she has gained and lost huge amounts of fame, and she knows all the types of people who can make it.
I adored Britney when i was younger and practically 'hate' her now, but she was one of the greatest.

They clearly needed someone to coach on lip-synching. She has much more experience in the music business overall as well.

That said, I think they are both terrible choices and this show is plummeting after only 1 season.

From Paula Abdul and Nicole whatever-her-name-is to Demi Lovato and Britney Spears while also keeping LA Reid.

Doesn't inspire much confidence that this season will be better than last season.

I'm not into the bubble gum pop music but for some reason Britney has cast a spell on me. I used to despise her, now I love her. But that's beside the point; I think she'd be the better judge...she has "It", that star quality & she has such a huge impact on the industry. Even after 13 years she's still everywhere. I think she'd give great advice to the contestants.

All of you are going to say Britney Spears just because she been in the music biz for a longer time and Demi is a former disney star. However even though I like Britney's songs better Demi is a MUCH better singer. If you look at Britney's live concerts she is obviously lip-syncing where is Demi is singing live. And if you don't think Demi is a good singer look at this.
