This year's Academy Award nominees were announced Tuesday morning, meaning the weeks leading up to February 26 will be filled with rumors and speculation. Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" and Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" lead the list with 10 and 11 nominations respectively, but there were plenty of movies with multiple nominations. "Moneyball" and "The Descendants" did well, allowing Brad Pitt and George Clooney to vie for Best Actor.

We put together a Quick Vote poll for the major categories so you can find your way around the nominations and get involved in the discussion right away.     The movie was cute... Not really up to the old stuff but still a lot of fun. I have some problems with the current character voices in some cases since I remember the old ones so clearly still and we have a few seasons of the old Muppet Show on DVD.

    With the You Tube clips.. I've been following them for awhile now. Love the Bohemian Rhapsody version they did.

    Yes... I know. But lots of people don't know it was up for best song last year since it didn't get the recognition it deserved. It was still one of the best Disney efforts in a LONG time.

    Everything was wonderful on this movie. The Tracks, sounds, effects, background, the Drama …. EVREYTHING! :)

    Why isn't The Adventures of TinTin up for one? That movie was like a little Indiana Jones mixed with Pirates of the Caribbean, but with a teenager and a cute dog named Snowy.

    Due to the motion capture technology used in creating this film, it was left out of the running as not being a true "animated" film. :D I would vote for it though.

    Really? Motion capture is what kept it out of the running!? Motion capture is simply a modern-day hi-tech analogoue of rotoscoping, which was used in freakin’ Popeye cartoons from Fleischer Studios! Many Disney classics also made heavy use of rotoscoping. Ralph Bakshi overused it in his “The Lord of the Rings” animated movie.

    Most 3D animated movies have used motion capture.

    If it's not real, it's animated...gumby was "clay animation" & that was more real. Animation isn't just cartoons
