This year's Academy Award nominees were announced Tuesday morning, meaning the weeks leading up to February 26 will be filled with rumors and speculation. Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" and Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" lead the list with 10 and 11 nominations respectively, but there were plenty of movies with multiple nominations. "Moneyball" and "The Descendants" did well, allowing Brad Pitt and George Clooney to vie for Best Actor.

We put together a Quick Vote poll for the major categories so you can find your way around the nominations and get involved in the discussion right away. FROM the little I've seen of it, so far (Trailers - and clips on TV..), anything else will have to be really good to beat "Tin Tin" for 2013...

You're probably right about it coming too lae in the year. I don't think it can loose if its been nominated for next year. Tin Tin was phenomenal. It worked for adults as well as kids. It was classic pulp cinema

Kung Fu Panda was pretty damn epic!
Rango was dumb, at least thats what i thought. No matter how much i love Johnny Depp, i can't bring myself to love this movie...
Puss in Boots was.. meh..

As much as I enjoyed Puss and Boots, the characterization was better and the storyline was a tad more complex in Rango. I laughed during the entire movie as well... it was definitely original. I like quirky movies.

The only other one I've seen is Kung Fu Panda 2. It was cute, but Puss & Boots was so adorable I am actually going to buy the DVD (something I haven't done in 6 or 7 years). I LOVE cats. :D

Loved Rango and I don't usually care for animated kids films. Rango hit that line where a kids movie is even more fun for the adults. Kind of like the old Muppet Show.

Speaking of which, what did you think of “The Muppet Movie”? Technically it’s not animated, so didn’t qualify for this award.

Have you seen the YouTube clips of the Muppets that preceded the movie (and the trailers thereof), but were long after The Muppet Show?

Some examples:

This is an early one, posted under the name “meepmeepmeepow” (supposedly Beaker himself) as a Video Response to a popular multitracking YouTube video:

Several other early ones were likewise uploaded under accounts of Muppets (e.g. Gonzo = “weirdowhatever,” Statler & Waldorf = “heckleu247,” Sam = “patrioticeagle,” etc.) as Video Responses to popular YouTube videos that they were parodying.

More recently, those were all re-uploaded, and new ones uploaded, under the name “MuppetsStudios.” The new ones were not Video Responses. Examples:
