It's really hard to say, since I don't know all of these:

    Buddhism is nonviolent.

    Wicca is nonviolent.

Unitarian Universalists aren't really violent. Sure they talk a lot, but it's more against each other, and more for fun than any real threats.

I have no idea what Seicho-no-Ie is, so had to look it up. It looks fairly nonviolent, but can't say for sure, since I don't know anyone in it.

Jainism seems to be fairly nonviolent.

I can't say that Paganism is nonviolent, since that is referring to everything that is not Christian, including Islam.

Then, again, religions based on the Bible and the Qu'ran, and other such fictitious histories, are the instigators of many wars, tortures, attempted (and possibly realized) genocides, etc.

True. I'm sure there are some pagan religions that are violent, but they're very small groups that don't hold much weight, and are easily detained. After all, to be pagan, you simply have to not be of the Abrahamic religions.

    Pagan is a General Term

by anything non Abraham Religion that would classify all other religions in the world as Pagan which is not how Paganism is Defined

there are Ten million Pagans /Wiccans in America 4 Million in Canada world wide there is close to 500 million to 600 million Pagans/ Wiccans World wide

we are not as small as you might think

That is how the term is defined in dictionaries. Then, again, we all know how accurate dictionaries are, from the false definition of marriage included in them. XD

Blowing up medical clinics and murdering staff at said clinics: http://www.prochoice.org/abou...

    Murdering homosexuals:

These may be acts of "Christian" people... there is NO mandate by the Bible or the Christian Church to take such actions. They are 'mis-placed' actions that are NOT RIGHT!!

If a chubby, bald, white guy commits a crime...does that mean all chubby, bald, white guys are criminals???

But the religion takes its cues from the bible where all these violent things were condoned and glorified. So, if you believe in the bible as God's word, then you must also condone and glorify these actions.

Well, lets start with the adoption of the canon of the new tewstament in 325 AD by the council of Niceaa. Now there was some rewriting of the gospels by St. jerome to fit the will of the men in charge. The gospels that were chosen presented the point of view of these men and many gospels that said what they did not like were excluded. (like the gospels of Mary Judas, Timothy, etc.)
The position of women in the church was limited by definition and this in turn let to the persecution of women for ages by the Catholic church, all based on the canon of the NT as adopted.
It is not so much that violence was condoned in the NT, but the interpretation of Paul's writings by the church certainly did.
  • Andy WGN 2011/11/10 15:19:01
    Andy
The role of women was a MAN MADE issue... Paul stated in Galatians 3:26ff... "you are all sons of God, through faith in Jesus Christ....there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female for you are all one in Christ Jesus" The men/women of the church messed this up. The Bible is clear that women are equal to men in the eyes of God.

Andy, Christian leaders order their followers to commit acts of violence, or refuse to stop acts of violence or to blame their victims. The current Pope told millions of Christians to consider that Gay people are fundamentally evil, created by Satan (like Satan creates life???) and that Baptism (which is suposed to wash ALL sin away) doesn't work on homosexuals. Gay people are killed and beaten every day, especially our children because of these teachings. It's a terrible heresy but that doesn't change the fact that it exists. It's not new for the Church. It is thought that 4 million people were burnt alive during the persecution of "witches" alone. It's not a good history, and it's not a good present.

Except for the Fundamentalist Missionaries in Africa who have been showing Africans DVD of bizarre fetish sex, telling them that what they are seeing is homosexuality and then whopping them up to try to pass laws making being Gay a capital crime (put to death when accused) and not reporting Gays to the authorities an offense that gets you 5 yrs. in prison. That is going on right now, today and the result has been deadly violence led by Christians who claim they are speaking for all Christianity. Christians throw their GLBT children out of the house and into prostitution for survival. On any given day in NYC alone there are 70,000 homeless kids. Christians raise and spend millions of dollars every year to persecute people for loving each other. You never know what you'll get from them. It might be help, it might be screaming in your face that it's all your fault that there are no jobs. You never know.

I never said... CHRISTIANS AREN'T SINNERS... In fact Christians are the worst sinners, as they confess Jesus, yet don't follow HIM. Too many give lip service to Christ.
