I understand if you're athletic, but making an asthmatic kid with vision problems play kickball won't help them later in life. Said kid plans to get her Master's in forensic toxicology, which, gasp, doesn't involve counting the number of sit ups you can do in a minute.

P.E.

Education should be only about intellectual enrichment. People will be active on their own, or they won't. To imagine that a P.E. class will build a lifelong love of exercise or health is delusional. To have a good grade in P.E. boost your GPA is criminal. Then there is the abnormal amount of bullying that occurs in P.E. more than any other time in school. I actually wasn't bullied, but I saw it constantly. Waste of time is putting it mildly.

PE! I got plenty of exercise in high school I had an afterschool job and I had plenty of afterschool activities to keep me busy! and I lived in a small town and you could walk everywhere.

Actually it was 'Religious Knowledge!' The teacher was never there bt she made sure before goin elsewhere to give us some stupid essay like ' Write a story of when you wen to the concert of Jesus and how did it go?' -_-

Home Economics

PE is important because it's the only exercise some kids get. I liked maths. I liked Tech, although we never got around to Woodwork. Home Ec is kinda stupid though because it's not enough time to teach kids to cook properly and I didn't learn a thing about sewing.

Yeah, and if you're that good, P.E. becomes a moot point. You've already been practicing your sport privately since you were a little kid. I would love to see P.E. removed from the required class list nationwide.

Wood Shop

Out of these Wood shop. It's not really a skill you're going to use every day. You need the skills from Home Economics, like cooking, and sewing. And Math, Algebra..is a bit much, who really needs to know x+13(t2)=y, It's not really a practical math skill, but we need math in general. and P.E. while I hated it, is useful.

Wood shop is an elective so it really has no place on this list. Wood shop can be useful to someone who loves working with wood and tools. If it were a required class then it would be a waste of time for most kids. P.E. is a waste for everyone involved, including the taxpayers.

Home Economics

Didn't take it. Wood shop was something I greatly enjoyed--I can still run power tools better than a lot of guys I know. Algebra I didn't much mind. P.E. is good for physical activity and sports are fun.

Overall though? My most pointless classes were probably either Honors World HIstory or Honors Marine Biology, because despite being honors courses, both classes were crap and the teachers didn't care. I aced World History and I played hangman (and similar games) every single day of class.

I'm in sports and I am physically active. P.E. takes up my time that I could have for another class that I would learn from or a study hall.

P.E. keeps me in shape, home economics taught me daily skills, wood shop is a valuable skill. algebra.......not so much.

Really I feel everything after basic math (Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) is a waste of life unless you're going into some kind of math/science job field when you get older. I can't think of the last time I need sin cos and tan in my daily life...

Out of those 4? P.E. Almost every aspect of life can be lived without lifting weights or running around a football field.

Out of all the classes I've had? State history. I didn't care about New Mexico history when I had it last year, and it benefits me in no way unless I decide to become a New Mexico politician, which I have no plans on doing.

Yes, because I'll morph into a 500-pound lump of adipose tissue if I don't run around said football field or lift said weights, just like everyone else who ever had little interest in sports or noticed that you don't have to have muscles to know anything!

I have to admit I got that idea from "Peggy Sue Got Married", but it's true lol I didn't put P.E. because it was only a waste of time for me. I'm sure it was not a waste to most other kids, but I'm so clumsy I trip over dust and I have no hand-eye coordination. P.E. didn't help because mostly the teacher liked to spend all his/her time with the students who actually were good at athletics. So P.E. for me was really a study in misery :D

Actually, I would say "social studies." At least in Home Ec ya got shown some useful skills, and the misinformation was of a less consequential nature.
