Be sure to vote for your Oscar picks with our Academy Award Quick Vote!

This year's Academy Award nominees were announced Tuesday morning, meaning the weeks leading up to February 26 will be filled with rumors and speculation. Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" and Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" lead the list with 10 and 11 nominations respectively, but there were plenty of movies with multiple nominations. "Moneyball" and "The Descendants" did well, allowing Brad Pitt and George Clooney to vie for Best Actor.

We put together a Quick Vote poll for the major categories so you can find your way around the nominations and get involved in the discussion right away. If you'd like to see a full list of categories and nominations -- Supporting Actors, Cinematography, Costume Design -- the official Oscars website has it here.

I'm sad to say that I haven't seen any of these movies. I'm quite behind. But my wife saw "The Help" and demanded I vote for it. Baby gets what baby wants. :)

I loved The Help, and it was a wonderful, insightful movie, but War Horse is my favorite! You just feel really good at the end. And it is a roller coaster, from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other!

Oh, go see it! It is magnificent, and really, the audience clapped at the end. I haven't felt like that at a movie since ET. You would love it!

I want to see it, very much.....The first ad/preview of 'War Horse' on TV was enough to make me bawl!

There are a few scenes that did bring tears to me, but the overall feeling of the movie made it worth it. It really is fantastic! See it when you can, and then let us know how you liked it.

I haven't seen a cinema movie for 3-4 years, but if I could choose one to see it would be War Horse and The Help.

Midnight in Paris was something else. It captured a beautiful world of escapism coupled with literary power and prestige. A truly potent movie which embodies the criteria for best picture!

A touch at home movie that reminds us that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Great cast with a gripping performance.

I was actually angered by this film. At least 50% of the movie takes place in 2005, when she was ill and suffereing from dementia. It was like going to see a movie about the life of former President Ronald Reagan and finding at least 50% of it devoted to his final years in seclusion in California and ignoring most of his public career. Meryl Streep should be blackballed by the Academy for participating in such a ludicrous project. My views on the script and cinematography are shared by most of the reviewers I have read. Please note that it was not nominated for "Best Picture." The critics all praise Meryl's performance, but I thought she was more of an impressionist in this movie than an actress!

For heaven sakes it is a movie not real life, my goodness I guess being crotchety most assuredly comes with age. The reviews are in fact poor on the movie itself but Streeps performance was applauded.

No matter what you views are on Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, if you sell the movie as a biography, it should be a biography! The movie "Patton" was about how General Patton helped the allies to win World War II. Years later they did a film about General Patton's death entitled "The Last Days of General Patton." If they had entitled this movie, "The declining Years of Margaet Thatcher" we would have known what to expect. Attendence would be lower, but at least it would be more honest! Mery Streep should have read the script and declined the role!

I take it your a professional critic? Most of us that have been around longer than twenty minutes know great movies and you are correct that most of what is out there is average at best. I have seen most of these movies and some are solid but not really academy award type movies, more on the line of just Peoples choice.

I'm no professional critic but i have an appreciation for a good movie I've just been really disappointed in the movie selection these days a lot of it is stupid comedies and what not or just fairly shallow i haven't seen the war horse but it seemed interesting enough that if given the opportunity i would see it. the movies that i would vote for would be something as deep as a satoshi kon or a miazaki film tim burton normally makes good movies and under normal circumstances a pixar film but i think cars 2 was more obligatory due to the rabid 10 and under fan base, not that i wouldn't watch it just i don't think its best animated film material.

The "Best Film" category is not really the best film. It should be "Favorite Film". All of these are good for many different reasons. My choice is the one that entertained me the most or made me feel something. This year, "War Horse" and "The Warrior" are the ones that made me think and left me thinking. That's why I'm rooting for "Joey"!!

Also, those rooting for "The Help" need to realise that this is just a twist on the same subject matter of "The Color Purple". Racial inequality has been overdone. It is a subject that just won't go away. Although Viola Davis is an amazing actress, it isn't "Best Picture" worthy.

Until real life inequality goes away, movies such as The Help, will be in vogue and will get attention. I did not know we had reached the state of Nervana where there is no more racism.

I voted but haven't seen anyone of them--why u ask-or dont ask--none of them really interest me-but since I like action and war movies that's why I voted for that one. Not many seem Oscar type but then again since I'm not the Hollywood Elite I don't vote. Besides I wait til they are free on TV, then maybe I'll watch it.

this looks to be a good movie and with Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock as the stars, theres no doubt that it could win.

But Harry Potter should have been nominated!

I loved War Horse! I think the combination of showing the horrors of WW1 and on the other side of the coin, the love the boy had for the horse - really made a great movie. Loved the scene of the English and Germans stopping the fighting in order to save Joey. Great movie - one of my all time favorites!

At least it's something new and different than the usual fare. Some of these are pure Hollyweird trash, better suited to TV movie of the week. Every year, something or someone gets nominated not for talent but because they're popular or because it's the PC thing to do.
