I've long ago turned off the TV. Might go a little squirrely without a computer though

The only time I watch TV now is if someone else is watching it. I watch all my shows on-line. NO COMMERCIALS! I hate commercials.

I've done so for 9 months (no, I'm not one of those smug people who brag about not owning a TV), but my computer is my TV so really, it doesn't count.

I need both. Computer - mostly for my games but I like a large TV set. I don't like to watch shows on the computer. Tried it when I missed something but I prefer the large screen for my favorite shows.

Television just lacks substance these days. And though it's an option to watch on my computer, I just don't. All of these reality shows and competitions are entertaining, butI gain nothing from it and at the end of the day I realize I didn't turn my tv on once... Annnd.. No, I don't miss it. The computer is an outlet for information and socializing such as Sodahead. I yearn for more stimulation than Snooki and any singing competition.

Don't even have to think twice, I can live without my TV. 90-95% of the TV shows on right now are total mindless junk. Nothing original anymore, mostly brainless reality shows. Also these "Fall finales" the major networks introduced about 7, 8 years ago (2 month hiatus from late Nov - late Jan.) have ruined many decent shows.

I HAVE given up TV, I refuse to pay to watch TV (cable or satellite), but I will and do pay for the internet, I can watch what I want online if needed. I also live off grid, I generate my own power so I have to decide what to use my power on, and it's not going to be on a TV.

I've been living without a television for 10 years now, and not missing the cable bill at all, lol.
When I use to watch television with the antenna on the roof of my home it was free, so I did not mind viewing the stupid commercials that were geared for 5th graders, as most who watch television are of low intelligence so the advertisers have to make commercials that those people will understand and relate to, I know, I use to be in advertising.

When everything went cable and they started to turn off broadcast television the cable started to charge everyone for what use to be free, and then they added even more commercials to view with less real television programs. That's when i said people won't stand for this kind of piracy of the television. But advertisers said your wrong, most people are stupid, they will pay and they will watch because they are hooked on television. And it turns out I was wrong, and people are stupid after all, because most people just paid their cable bill for something that use to be free, and they keep paying more every year, some paying an average of $100 a month for television,
But not me, I donated my television to a nursing home 10 years ago and have never missed it, or the bill. I get more done, make more money because of it. Bu...

But most people can never stop watching television, because like the advertisers say, they are stupid, and they are hooked on television. And the same 5th grade commercials are still going strong for most of America.
Our political leaders also use commercials to get you to vote for them, and they lie to you most of the time, because that's what people like to hear!
Television is what is changing America, and it's not for the good of the people, it's for the good of the advertisers and who they back.
