Our heart stopped for a second when we got the message -- on our iPhone of course -- that Apple co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer Steve Jobs died on Wednesday at the too-young age of 56.

The passing touched everyone who has ever worked on an Apple computer, used an iPhone, iPod or iPad or watched a Pixar movie -- including countless Hollywood stars, who took to Twitter to share their thoughts about a true American genius.

"We will miss you, Steve Jobs. Sent lovingly from my iPhone," wrote "Glee" star Jane Lynch. Jimmy Fallon made a similar heartfelt joke: "Thank you, Steve Jobs, for all of the fun and amazing ways you made our lives better....Sent from my iPhone."

Kevin Spacey urged people to continue to "Think different," and Steven Spielberg called Jobs "the greatest inventor since Thomas Edison. He put the world at our fingertips." From Josh Groban to Dianna Agron to Alyssa Milano, click through our slideshow and let us know: Which celeb had the best tribute to Steve Jobs?

"He put the world at our fingertips."

I think that sums it up exactly and with an economy of words. I think Steve Jobs would like to be remembered that way.

They are all beautiful, love filled tributes i just wish they could have told him this while he was alive to appreciate it. we need to remember to tell those we love how we feel about them everyday because we never know if they feel sad and unloved inside, unaware that they are greatly appreciated by many. R.I.P visionary

he was absolutely correct. Not a mind has been in our presence since Edison. Sure, people have invented many things, but not like Jobs, he changed the lives of the world forever. Just when you thought his technology couldn't get any better, he'd spring a new great invention upon us.

What a great mind, and I'm sure there would have been a hell of a lot more where all we know has come from had he lived. Lets hope some of that brain power of his was inherited by one of his children.

I voted Josh Groban, because my first computer was a Macintosh LC II... I still have it, as a retro piece of love, and I enjoy working on my iMac.
RIP Great gurú of the white apple.

Steve Jobs was amazing in every way. He was not only a kind man, he was (To put it simply) a genius. His goal in life was to make the complicated simple, and that's what he did. He took this HUGE computer that had to have a milion things, and over time, turned it into an IPad. And before that, he invented IPods. Before IPods you had big bulky CD players, and record players. This man is my hero.
    R.I.P Steve Jobs

From the day you were born. God, had a mission for you. Steve, you went above and beyond. What our minds could not comprehend. He stole you to early. But, that okay. You're in a better place. Maybe you can build God, something special up there. LoL, from me and my family, to yours. Rest In Peace. OH, GREAT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know or care what any of them said, Spielberg is the only one who benefitted materially in a way that he could not have from other products. For any of the rest of them, unless they were doing graphic design I don't know about, Apple makes fashion accessories. And Jobs didn't invent most of the things popularly attributed to him.

The only tribute that counts, regardless, is Woz's tears.
