Were you a fan of "Pan Am" or "GCB"? We have some bad news for you.

Christina Ricci's "Pan Am" was supposed to be the new "Mad Men," but ratings for the ABC period drama declined after a strong start. ABC yanked it from the schedule in February, denying that it had been canceled, but now it's finally official.

As for "GCB," Kristin Chenoweth's soap about Texas girls 20 years later (based on Kim Gatlin's book, "Good Christian Bitches") was supposed to be the new "Desperate Housewives," but it didn't happen.

After 10 seasons, David Caruso's "CSI: Miami" is getting the boot -- the first series from the CSI franchise to do so. So is "Alcatraz" -- the Fox sci-fi drama produced by J.J. Abrams -- and "Are You There, Chelsea?" the NBC sitcom based on Chelsea Handler's 2008 best-selling book, "Are You There, Vodka?"

There are a few more the network nitwits cancelled that are not listed here. They have no clue about what people really like. All they look at is ratings. Do YOU have a Neilsen box in your house?

Since I am mostly home bound due to my disability, I have little to do but watch the boob tube, and I liked all of these shows. But the ones not listed are going to be missed more by me. The loss of shows like "House", or "Terra Nova", or "The Closer", will be truly depressing. So many really good television shows are scrapped, just to air another mindless "reality" piece of crap, that I will probably spend what little time I've got left on this planet, wearing out my netflix subscription reacquainting myself with the old good stuff.

    What's "Missing" is House!

This edit is happening on June 17'th, 2012.

I've changed my mind. I like "House" and will miss it. They succeeded in giving the show a great sendoff.

If anyone was noticing, they also left the possibility open in the last episode for something else to come up in the future.

Why'd they cancel Pan Am? I thought Fox is supposed to cancel all my favorite shows (most of the shows I liked were fox network shows)! That sucks.

I haven't seen any of the others....and from what I've heard about GCB, I'm probably not missing anything.

Thankfully, 'Miami' is shown in reruns....but I will miss scenes like

     from All In

    and... Eric and Speed

    and... Group shot

"Unreasonable acts are all I see." (Dr. Alexx Woods/from "Extreme")

Awake was not even given a fair chance. I was looking forward to next season because there are so many unanswered questions. It would have been a piece of cake for the writers to come up with some great storylines to keep it interesting for at least another year.

Alcatraz was getting good, albeit it did seem a bit slow at times. But, it takes awhile to learn each character's background, etc. They didn't give it a chance.

I really thought that Missing would catch on. Ashley Judd's star power along with a great supporting cast and good writing, I guess, just wasn't enough to compete with all of those stupid reality shows.

Another good show that is not mentioned is "Unforgettable". Just when it was getting really interesting. Poppy Montgomery was great in that.

And that just sums it up. Ashley Judd is wonderful in anything she does, but too many idiots would rather watch "Snookie" or "Jwoww" or some of those other freakshows. It is so sad.

I also agree with your statement on Poppy Montgomery,

I liked Are You There, Chelsea a lot, but I think Awake had real potential. GCB had me going for a while; I like Kristin Chenoweth, but the show made me want to nuke Texas. I thought PanAm was cool and I love Christina Ricci, but I still have three unwatched episodes on the DVR. Guess I'll delete them now. The rest I didn't watch at all.

I like Pan Am, and here is the reason why. That show reflected what life was like back in the 60's. I liked seeing the women dressed liked women. I like the friendships between all of the girls and guys. I like the mystery of the CIA being involved with the attendant. It was just a good clean show. No men kissing men, no women making out with other women, it was just a good show. But no, we have to have shows like Greys that everyone is sleeping around and making out with the same sex as them. And another thing the show GCB was good too, and I liked the funny religious Christian storyline. But no we can't mention God or Jesus for crying out loud anymore.
