Lot's of these have been remade. Some newer films of this genre are just on the horizon. That said which of these top ten 50's Classics is best? I have seen all these.

So true....I posted this and really just voted for the Creature because no one had. Then I remembered I always felt sorry for him! Read down a bit and there is a little famous history to that thought.

No doubt Silence of the Lambs is awesome! I enjoyed the sequels too. Hannibal is quite a riveting personality.

I think Vincent Price had some of that as well. His voice got me in creep mode as a kid!

I was going to go with the Creature from the Black Lagoon. But then as I went down the list it became harder and harder to pick. Classics every one. Loved them all.

Hahaa....well the Creature did start out slow. I finally chimed in to vote for him. I always felt kind of bad for him. If you scroll down you will see where another poster reminded me of a very great scene! In the Marilyn Monroe movie "The Seven Year Itch" she goes with her married neighbor (summer in NY his wife and kid are in the country) to see a movie. It happens to be the Creature and as they walk out she says how she feels sorry for him. This is just a bit before this legendary shot!

One of my all time favorites. Did you know Orson Wells and a group of actors performed it on the radio in 1938 so well many who listened panicked thinking it was real?

So I have heard as well. There was no television and by 1938 the clouds of WW2 had to be making people very jumpy.

yes indeed and it led to THIS movie being created seems the Director of Beast had a daughter and she was upset the Beast died...so the director and writers got together and did a sort of 'kinder gentler' version of Beast...
