By hometown, do you mean where I'm currently living, or where I was born? Cause both have their ups & downs (mostly downs).

Last time I checked Switzerland was ranked as one of the happiest countries in the world. Probably because they know how to properly handle matters of finance, and they also make kick ass cheese, knives & chocolate.

As unfriendly as the people were in the town where I grew up (I assume this is what you meant, rather than where I live now), I understand the Swiss are even less friendly.
