    to be honest i just picked one at random. giutar riffs are like kids it's hard to pick a favorite when they all have differnt things you like.

    These are all good but probably my favorite riff ever is the intro to Raining Blood by Slayer.

    Well, after spending some time thinking, the best riffing put to record was done by Randy Rhoads on the song "Believer." Just check out the track on the Tribute CD. I have never heard anything else that comes close to the amazing flow and impact of the riffs there.

    Right In Two, by Tool.

    That end riff is so.... boundless! Unbelievable song from an amazing band! Few riffs even come close. If you don't believe me, listen to the song, beware though: patience is a virtue. the riff I'm speaking of doesn't come in until about 5 minutes into the song, and goes for a full three minutes more!

    I would say James Willianson from the Stooges ont the song Search and Destroy, or Billy White from Watchtower on Meltdown are on the top of my list. That is if we aren't talking about Scott Ian (Be All, End All, State Of Euphoria is my fave Anthrax album) or Dave Mustaine (Holy Wars, it blew me away and made me wanna play guitar!)

    I think Caught in the Mosh has one of the best riffs after!! Followed by Mouth for War...
