As my kids r all grown up, never heard of these, but my favourite stories were Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales. Some were made into films. I think one was the Tinder Box. Must find them and show our grandchildren. Got to be better than horrid histories

Only 4 children's stories have ever been written, in all of human history; so noted.

There wasn't anything else on there I wanted to pick so I pick Green Eggs and Ham. The real story that deserves to be on the list is the story known as Love you Forever. Now that right there, is a real, true blue story that made me so sad to know what went down. Loving someone even after their really old and can't take care of themselves. That right there, is a great story that made me want to tear up and say "Wow...what an amazing story."

Since there isn't an 'other' button, I would've put down Grimm's Fairytales. Dad used to read it to me at night when I was young.

I put The Velveteen Rabbit down as well. When I would read it to my daughter, I could not make it through without tearing up. She'd ask me if I was okay. Another one that I would read that always made me cry when I'd read to her, was "The Small One." Have you read that one? the small one

No I haven't. Tarheel, I'm thinking that you must be from or live in N.C. I use to live in Wrightsville Beach, Jacksonville &Wilmington.; I went to UNC- by the sea. Back to the Velveteen Rabbit, growing up I had a small stuffed cat that I named Mitzu. I literally loved her until she fell apart.

Yes, actually I live in Charlotte and have lived in this area since the 70's, minus going to college, etc. I went to Carolina, which is why I use "tarheel."

I bought my daughter a stuffed "velveteen rabbit" at a festival which looks exactly how I imagined velveteen rabbit to look. You should read "The Small One" around Christmas, it's an awesome story! :)

I loved the 'Round The Twist' adaptation on ABC before cast changes etc.
