What's the worst part of Valentine’s Day?

Being single.

Though really it's the holiday in general. I think it's stupid that people go through so much trouble and spend so much money because it's just what you do on Valentine's Day. And maybe there's people who don't mind doing those things or even enjoy doing them - there's nothing wrong with that, but if you do those things you should do them because you want to. Not because a holiday tells you to do them.

If you don't want to do them then you shouldn't have to. If your heart isn't in it, it doesn't mean anything. I'd rather have someone do something nice/romantic for me because he wanted to; not because he felt like he had to. That said, I feel bad for you men. Expected to make the day absolutely perfect and heaven help you if you don't. There's exceptions of course, but overall men get the short end of the stick. Stupid holiday.

To all the women who complain about your husbands/boyfriends/ whomever: when's the last time you did something for them? It's not all about you.

Having to listen to everybody complain about how lonely they are when they have boys and girls kneeling at their feet.

The bill, OMG who says you get free when you are married or dating. No, you still have to pay for it.

It always sucks because you expect things to go soooo much better. Last night all my boyfriend and I did was fight. We almost never fight, but he expected it to be the perfect night and got angry when everything didn't go his way.......I think Valentine's day is over rated.

May want to reevaluate that relationship !!

What I hate the most is the women who think the day is all about them. It's a lover's day. The affection and surprises should go both ways. I hate the women who bitch n moan the day after about how their man didn't live up to their expectations. I wonder when was the last time they did something special for their man?

You wanted equality? How about ditching those old ass hypocritical gender roles and surprising and spoiling the man once in an eon?

Sorry for the rant, this is just a day were the whining of equal and empowered 'feminists' really get to me.

I can't stand women like that.

I worry about those that don't have a valentine being unhappy and feeling left out because of the commercial, Hallmark hype about this one day.

What I did was invite a bunch of single people I know to watch horror movies, drink beer and order Dominoes. One of the funnest Valentine days I've had.

The bleeding expense, it's a bloody rip off.

"Expectations" you would have an alternate choice like "other" instead of the four lousy ones you think are the only worse. What are you psychics Lets Ask America?

The hope or expectation expensive jewelry I think is silly. Unless you are together for many years then maybe something appropriate to celebrate the relationship.

However this year it was the fact that my husband had work and class today so we have to put off our Valentines stuff till Sunday or Monday.

When all kinds of expectations are heaped upon generally the man to give material things all over again to the woman he loves just like its christmas all over again or; if he don't, "he may risk losing her "OK' stop the madness!!!
If she drop you because you couldn't or wouldn't buy gifts to prove your love for her' if that's what Valentine's Day mean then count me out; that doesn't mean love.

That whole silly custom about having to give women flowers!

Getting flowers on a day where soo many others are getting them is lame. I think its far more romantic to get them out of the blue for no specific reason.....I'll call it random acts of love :) Yea now that's hot!

True, but On Valentines Day it's easier to find purple roses and they are my favorite.

I'm not really into flowers...for me just one passional kiss is enough (ok, maybe some chocolates but that's optional )
for a couple, Valentine's Day should be 'celebrated' everyday, it shouldn't be one specific day for confessing how big your love for your gf is (-_-)
