What's the worst book you ever had to read for school (ie. the one you hated the most)

I would have to go with Bartleby the Scrivner and Ulysses because, literary classics they may be, exciting and easy to get through they are not. Just because it's a work of literary genius doesn't mean I want to read it. I would much rather admire it from afar or hear about it second-hand.

LOL i agree! mmm, probably the worst one I have evr had to read, would be the Great Gatsby & Animal Farm. uggh. the Great Gatsby was a good book, nonetheless, but it was SO dang boring... i read half of it, and watched the movie the rest of the way through HAHA. And To Kill A Mocking Bird... thought i would DIE. lol. although i am caucasian, there was just TOO much racism to enjoy them... lol. well i take that back, To Killa Mocking Bird wasn't THAT bad... LOL

Hope Was Here in the 6th grade. (boring and sad) and Missing May (NOTHING BUT MISERY) ughh the only good book I've read in school was The Princess Bride.EVERY (not kidding) book we read had to have the main character or someone close to them die so it was always a sob story. I hated it. :/
