me and a old buddy of mine were on the road right outside new orleans at a waffle house having a cup of coffee. There was a trucker a couple of seats down from us. He sat there watching us and said kindly "you kids be careful driving home ok" and walked outside and him and his truck vanished. The truck never drove off. He was just gone. Since that day we've firmly believed him as an angel.

In Dec, 73, I was deploying to Westpac aboard USS Schofield to Subic Bay in the Phillippines. WE had crossed the Pacific and were transiting the San Bernardino Straits heading for the Sibuyan Sea off the island of Samar. It was late on a moonless night with only starlight and the phosphoresence of the bow wake to light up the night. I was sitting on one of the port-side bollards on the Fo'c'sle having a last cig before going below to hit the rack. As I sat there, I saw the door to the port brake open and a man step through. Cloding the door, he walked up towards me. I couldn't see his face in the night but I noticed he was wearing a white hat and the old stovepipe dungarees. He also didn't look like ANY of my shipmates since I knew all 250 of them, I said, "How you Doin?", to him as he passed and he nodded his head and headed up to the bow in front of the 5"38 gun mount where I lost sight of him. I got up to follow him and see who he was when, despite a sea that was calm as glass, we took a wave over the bow, so I ducked behind the mount out of the water. When I came out, the guy was gone. I ran up to the bridge to see it the boatswain's mate of the watch or the forward lookout had seen anything because my first thought was man overboard. Both told me they had only seen me smo...

I ran up to the bridge to see it the boatswain's mate of the watch or the forward lookout had seen anything because my first thought was man overboard. Both told me they had only seen me smoking my cig the entire time. Later that night, I was on watch in sonar and had gone up to CIC to talk to a friend of mine. I told him what I had seen and he asked me what time I'd seen the guy. When I told him, he pointed to the ship's course track on the chart. At the moment I had seen the guy, we were passing over the wreck of USS Johnston(DD-557). Johnston was part of a force of 5 DDs and DEs and 5 Escort Carriers in WW2 that had to fight off Adm Kurita's Center force of the Imperial Japanese Navy consisting of 5 battleships, including the Yamato, 7 heavy cruisers and 10 destroyers to save the landings at Leyte Gulf in late 1944. Johnston was sunk in the battle along with USS Samuel B Roberts, USS Gambier Bay and USS St Lo, but not before blowing the bows off TWO heavy cruisers and scattering the battle ship force with the rest of their torps. More on the battle off Samar here:

this was weird actually ... my friend taped it all... i passed out on her couch once and i sat up and walked over to the stairs and had a full out conversation with someone who we later discovered fell down the stairs and died in the house..

and i was sleepwalking and all i remember is being yanked over a guard rale by some screaming guy.
where i was standing was called lovers leap.. looking over a giant waterfall, where a young lady once jumped over and died.

my friend jokes saying that i have a 6th sense when i sleep, and that he should strap me down every time im over...

When I was twelve or so, a group of kids and I went into an old abandoned house where a woman had supposedly committed suicide in the bathtub. It was the middle of July, 95 degrees in the shade, when we entered the house. Inside was even hotter, but when we stepped into the bathroom, it was cold enough that we could see our breath. We hightailed it out of there in a damn quick hurry.

My most recent experience happened almost 15 years ago, when I felt the devil's presence in my bedroom. Trust me when I say, he's the last person you want to meet. There is no good in him.
