What's the Best Way to Discover Music?

My friends have (in my opinion) bad taste in music. So youtube

The internet is by far the best way to discover music or any type of entertainment. TV and Radio are so cooperate that its almost insulting to the consumer because they actually expect people to pay for carbon copy artists that are boring. Friends can be reliable but if they have a narrow aspect of music then thats never good.

None of my friends like the same music as me, metal that is.

I just go on digressive searches and end up in the weirdest places.

The first single on the radio I recall was Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody in '72.
Just a few months ago heard of the Stars' Changes & the Sheepdogs on CBC 2 which is set on the bedside alarm.

I wanted to say radio, because that's how most people in my time discovereed music, by listening to the radio.. There were records once that kids and teen could play on their record player.

I watch Country Music videos on GAC and CMT steady stream of new songs and artists.

Last .fm, pandora, college radio websites, etc.

That's where I get most of my music from, since being a big indie band, it is hard to find fellow fans in my small school. Any website or program that recommends you music based on your tastes is the best place to start.
