Classical

Classical is the best. It contains the core elements of Western music, and almost none of the other mentioned genres could exist without it. The connections may be blurred, or near non existent, but they are there. The study of new, complex sounds, and forms, in Classical music, is the basis for musical evolution. Plus, it's my favorite, which automatically makes it the best. Duh.
