In honor of Ridley Scott's upcoming sci-fi feature "Prometheus," CelebTV has put together some of the best and worst sci-fi movies of all time. Some of the movies, like "Terminator 2," are indisputable classics. Others, like "Plan 9 From Outer Space," are so terrible they're great. Check out the clip below for some truly awful and amazing flicks.

There's plenty of bad sci-fi out there, but when it comes to good sci-fi, your options are limited. You could go with an obvious choice, like the original "Star Wars" trilogy or Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" classic; or you could go with something a little more subtle, like Scott's cult favorite "Blade Runner" or "2001: A Space Odyssey." If you don't see your favorite, feel free to write it in. The choice for best sci-fi movie is yours to make!

Dude, really? That movie is just Rocky with robots, plot is exactly the same, the final fight is the same, its just sad that u would even think of putting this on the BEST sci-fi movie ever, this movie was barely mediocre, I would give it like a 5/10 that's it

I love the movies because they where in space. They a least get to go out in the in their vast galaxy. We are stuck here on planet earth.......for now. Hopefully in the future we get to see some of these other galaxies around us. Really any space movies are great to me. I love the human imagination.

me too. but i like to read books really instead of watch movies, especially old imagination, like 1800's. have you read H. G. Wells' "The Time Machine"? it's wonderful. he travels to the year 801702 to see that the world has split into two races. one naive and one evil. it's great!

You know what. I enjoy reading the star wars book better than movies. Right now I am reading star wars: scourge. My coworker gave me the Edgar Rice Burroughs Mars Trilogy to read. I going to start on that next. Can't read thing base on real life. I get depresses from reading them. Give me a fantasy novel any day. I think they help keep me sane......lol

i love reading like things that involve non-fiction people but the story is completely fiction. i just finished a book called "The Map of Time." you seriously need to try it! it was so awesome. there were alot of real people in it but the story was completely fiction. but if you need fiction to keep you sane this may not be the best book. it has a few real life horrors mixed in with fake ones in the story like murder and greedy people trying to swindle the poor dude. but it was really fun to read.

I've seen Terminator over 40 times, so that's out. Star Wars? Are you kidding? That didn't frighten me at all. Listen. If you saw Jurassic Park in the Theaters, you wasted your money. You should have come to my in-house theater, with TRUE surround sound, and loud enough to make you turn your head to see if that little dinosaur was really in our home theater... Now, that's the best movie to watch in HIFI... NOT STAR WARS.

was it horror flicks or sci-fi..??.....I agree with you Jurassic Park was a VERY good movie...and I even liked part 2....should have stopped there....but anyways....by your own testimony....it would have to be Terminator...cause you saw it 40 times....so there for to you...that is the best sci fi.....sci-fi doesn't have to scare you....just amaze you with futuristic scenes

I was tempted to put Mr. Nobody on here, but the sci-fi was very minimal and unimportant to the plot.

I tend to favor classics, and that (original series) is hard to match or exceed. But perhaps Avatar will for me, since I have yet to see it. You never know.

..but ALL the others on this option list are favorites of mine
