"Puss in Boots" knocked "Paranormal Activity 3" out of the top spot at the box office this weekend -- a little surprising, given that it's Halloween and all. But the prequel to a prequel is still a hit: Last weekend, the haunted house flick had the highest-grossing domestic debut for a horror film and broke records for an October release.
"This is the best of the series. It was well-reviewed," Don Harris, Paramount's president of domestic distribution, told Reuters, adding that "people like to be scared in a Hitchcock-ian way. This isn't a bloody franchise."
But rather than heading out to the theater tonight, we're thinking we'd rather scare ourselves with a classic horror film or two -- all while curled up on the couch. We saw "Carrie" pretty recently (which is still our favorite fright flick), so we're thinking "The Exorcist," "Psycho" or maybe "The Shining." From "A Nightmare on Elm Street" to "Friday the 13th," click through our slideshow and let us know: What's the best scary movie to watch tonight?

I would also recommend trick r' treat even though it's not scary, it's another good movie
This was terrifying, gave me chills.
Not saying that you don't already know that, but the way you worded your comment was odd...
You'll never look at a ventriloquist dummy in the same way again!
