I mostly listen to Pandora Radio and my favorite "station" to work to is my "Muse" station. I get quite an eclectic selection of music from Muse, to Radio Head, to the Beatles, to some electro. Love it!

Since when is Nickelback hard rock? They sure aren't metal! I like Nickelback don't get me wrong i listen to them when i want to listen to something lite but they are basic Rock.

I usually listen to 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s. Pretty much anything before 1980. After that time, what was recorded was junk. Do not like hip-hop, rap. Lady Gaga is not that talented, neither is Justin Bieber, Rihanna (I've listened to better singers in a high school chorus). Somehow the current crop of "hot" singers (so-called) is more about self-promotion than actual talent.

WHile most of what you say is based on truth, that is only the pop you are talking about. The 'pop'ular stuff on the radio as so much is owned by CLear Channel and they play those artists they book into their venues. Go to college stations, on the radio or on-line, or check out Pandora. Lots of good stuff out there, but most you'll never hear of if you listen to what clear Channel feeds the public.

Get away from the Pop and check out some Metal and Progressive Metal like Dream Theater... lots of talent there. Start out with the Awake album its great stuff!

Indie, Pop, Alternative, Accoustic. Stuff Like One EskimO, Mumford & Sons, Matisyahu to Moodswings and Robbie Williams. It's ALL good... anything except the Xmas crap that will be assaulting our ears for the next month. The first time a radio station plays that s**t, they're off my dial 'til January.
