People usually say that they would invest in Microsoft and Apple, but you need money to start with - so how do you get that money in the first place? I would need a "count of Monte Cristo cave" somewhere... Alasca perhaps? Lay a claim on property that we today know contains gold or some other precious minerals?

If we are talking back to the future stuff, I would find a way to make my parents NOT divorce. Their divorce destroyed our family, altered the course of our lives and created untold emotional destruction that is still creating havoc for my sisters due to the rejection and the way our birth mother handled the whole thing.


If we are talking simple fun, I would find a disco, and have a great time dancing.

I'd love it!!!! It would be a blast! I'd be able to see my dad, grandparents, aunts and uncles that have passed. I was six years-old in 1976. I remember the 70's with fond childhood memories.

me too, we could actually play outside, all day, without a parent glued to us, we could carry our transistor radios around and they worked everywhere, we could ride bikes for miles and not worry about being kidnapped and we didn't have 100 video games and tv stations keeping us locked inside.

I wish my daughter could enjoy some of those privileges, but there is no possible way.

I would be overjoyed! Especially if I had full memory of everything that was upcoming.

I'd love to skip that first marriage for starters.

Good year in music - probably buy all the vinyl of rock artists I love and watch several concerts.

And I would visit my 3-year old self and drop off a list of happenings in the future and tell her not even entertain to go to pre-med.

I existed back then but as an 8 year old. I just wonder how to adapt in the current age I am now in the past time.

Turn on the TV and watch new episodes of Starsky and Hutch.

I did wake up everyday in 1976.
It was a pretty damn good year.

I would catch Baba Wawa on the Today Show, tend to my (limited) patio organic garden, read some my Mademoiselle magazine...listen to the Stones, eat an early lunch at the health food store - where I would get a free vitamin C with my lunch, work out at a ladies health spa - complete with sauna, steam room, pool, and "cold plunge." It's my day off - Thursday. I go to the new 15 minute oil change - even though my boyfriend says that it's a rip, and offers to do it for me.. No, thanks, this new fangled way is much easier..on both of us.... Later, a bunch of us will go to the movies - and see "Network." Afterwards, my friends and I pore over the "listings" section in our city's alternative weekly and make weekend plans - to go to a gallery and see a much publicized exhibit - works of Peter Max.
My apartment is decorated with a brass globe lamp and earth tone furniture. Lots of plants and framed posters. In my bedroom is a la dee dah peacock chair. Microwaves are new, but I don't trust them. I use something called a Super Pan and make dishes like wild rice pilaf with sour cream and anything with fresh mushrooms - which are finally available in the supermarket and are now considered "safe." ... Ford is president; his daughter, Susan, is a budding photographer...Hmm... I buy my first decent camera, discover what an "f stop " is, and jump right in...Life is good; Vietnam is just about over.. and..everywhere I look, I see possibitlites.

Oh jez NO...I'd be in college in Northern California....but heading home in May of '76 to Kansas.

I would do my part to make sure Jimmy Carter was never elected.

Save as much money as I could in order to buy Johnson and Johnson stock in mid-'83 (when their stock plummeted during the Tylenol scare, but had rebounded to pre-scare prices before the end of the year). Then do the same thing, save money, in order to buy Microsoft stock when it went public in 1986. I'd also avoid doing a lot of stupid stuff I did and choose to do some intelligent things that I either failed or neglected to do. Most of those having to do with relationships with people in my life.

id definately act intelligent coz there are lots of things that we know now, they never knew back then.LOL!!!!
