What were you most excited to leave behind after high school?

I never had a curfew because my mom trusted me and I respected that. As long as I called her. My mom and I get along but we both openly piss each other off haha. It's a mix of chores and parent. I was sick of the nagging about doing chores after a super busy day that went from 8am to as late as midnight when I had to go out of town for varsity volleyball game. THEN having to do CITS papers on the bus there and back even though it would make me car sick. THEN coming home and as soon as getting in the door get nagged to do something. Really annoying..

The thing I was most excited about leaving was just high school. I wasn't part of any of the big groups, I never partied so life was pretty boring. I just wanted a fresh start and a new environment and that is what I got :)

I was the same. I just wanted to get away from high school.

I stayed at home til I was 23.

Actually I was very happy to leave High School behind. A bunch of morons and hos that deserved each other. Good luck to the next season of Jerry Springer!

Actually, a uniform. I had been wearing a school uniform for 13 years, since I attended Catholic schools from kindergarten until 12th grade. As for a curfew, it was midnight, but I didn't want to stay out all night anyway. I love my parents, and I still come home to visit every other week. And chores are no big deal. In fact, I now have to do more "chores" than I ever did at home: clean my apartment, cook and feed myself, wash my dishes, do the laundry, take out the garbage, etc.

Where's the "Dumbass High School Drama" option? Oh wait...that continues well into adult life...

My Mother. I graduated a year early and moved out 6 months before that, just to get away.

OMG, do you watch TV? Do you go to the movies? Do you work with other people? Do you shop in stores? Do you pay any attention to pop culture at all? I wish I lived in your imaginary world because in real life stupid superficial snobs and cliques never go away.

Nope, I hardly ever watch TV and I don't shop much in stores because I find shopping boring. I have worked for over 30 years and none of the people I work with are snobby like the idiots in high school, and since I don't belong to the uber rich class, I am spared the idiot cliques of the social climbers.

Yes, I'd say the cliques do go away after high school. My opinion.

I wish I knew what to tell you. I have noticed it adult cliques with the social climbers....If it's part of your job and/or lifestyle, that be tough.....

Still live at home but I was just excited to leave high school -_-. I don't believe I had a curfew since I rarely went out, I'd just have to let my mom know where I was going.

Actually i barely have chores, curfew isnt a issue and my parents leave me alone when i want my space. I like being a teenager-but its near its end.

Dress code, Dress Code, and Dress Code plus being forced to go there every day. I don't mind suits, or nice clothes but collar shirts, and regular shirts tucked in looks goofy and its at school. I want to dress nice at work, church, and nice parties, but not at school... Its like dressing nice for your house. I want to be relaxed, learn, pass tests, hang out with friends, and talk. don't need to be dressed up for that. I love College, it gets rid of everything that was wrong with High School, everyone is nicer, you get to plan out your classes when you want to have them, and no one is watching behind your shoulder.

Since I can't comment without voting, I selected curfew for no reason whatsoever. None of the options presented were ever a problem for me, and like many others, the thing I was most excited to leave behind was high school itself.

I don't have too many chores, nor do I have a set curfew. But my parents get on my nerve quite often. It'll be nice to be able to make my own choices using my own logic on what I want to do and how I want to live my life without my parents there to say "because I said so" all the damn time.
