Have to agree with alicestarbright, SH should not be a place to talk about your personal problems on here. You should really sit down and talk to your mom about this problem. I know it's freedom of speech, but that is kind of a personal issue.

I was most excited to be leaving High School behind.

I wasn't really happy about leaving my parents, and chores follow you wherever you go. The only difference in chores between living at home and living on your own is that when you're at home you only have a few, whereas when you're on your own you're responsible for all of it. Of course, some roommates split it up, but a lot of kids don't realize how much their parents do around the house to keep everything livable!

High schoolers.

If you leave behind parents, it includes the chores and curfew! But only temporarily, unfortunately! If you have a job you must get enough sleep to keep it, therefore imposing the curfew on yourself, and chores, well, when do they ever end in life!

Agreed there! I was excited to get into the working world; went right to work after high school...and it continues as do the chores. Only you can ride your own butt, if your disciplined enough. It's called taking life seriously!

I honeslty can't wait to get out and do whatever i want!

I actually found more snotty girls at college. There weren't many cliques at my school - at least not very pronounced ones.

What I enjoy leaving behind was the negativity. Everyone was so miserable, so closed off and you had to be. Being yourself and being open meant being ridiculed and brought down. The blade of grass that sticks out is the first to get mowed down. It was a very impersonal atmosphere. The same monotonous routine, day in, day out, for 4 months. All the teachers did was talk down to you instead of with you. There were no clubs, no social events, no celebrations. And the food sucked. Nutritious my ass. It's all made of ground chicken pretty much.

I am not sure if there was anything. It was none of these 3 and I attended college in my hometown so I lived at home for a while.

I still have to be home around 12-1, but that will change in the summer when I'm 19 :) I wouldn't want to stay out longer than that right now anyway

Where is the "Other" box?? The best thing I left behind at my HS were the idiot classmates. Most of them had their heads up their rumps.

Never had curfew, never had chores, had only one parent who was barely around. So honestly, it wasn't that different, just glad to have been moving on in life.

I moved back home after college. My mother actually thought I had to return to my 12 midnight curfew (I was 28 at the time). Was she in for a surprise.

Wow, I must of had and awesome HS life. No curfew, parents were awesome, almost no chores (work doesn't count)

I love my parents so I won't want to get away from them, I never really had a curfew (I was pretty responsible so my parents never set one), and chores follow you for the rest of your life so there's no getting way from that.

I was more excited to get away from all the immaturity, superficiality, and fake people in my school. When graduation day came I ran across the stage and yelled "GOOD RIDDANCE!"
