What were you most excited to leave behind after high school?

What "curfew?" I didn't know I had any curfew, because I never did anything or went anywhere anyway. And if I did, I would always tell them where I was going. Smart, to tell family members, no matter what your age, where you are going, because what if you don't return in a timely manner? Wouldn't you want somebody to come looking for you?

Once I finished school, I could leave behind the crap the government monopoly schools propagandized, and move on to reading books about what I really wanted to know, like reading the entire Bible and the "lost" books of the Bible. Now I am even studying Hebrew.

You never leave behind chores. Adults do even more chores.

I chose parents, because my parents were in a religious cult, and because my parents divorced when I was young, and it was a mess. Moving out onto my own, may have been expensive, but it helped me to be more responsible, more independent and more free. I didn't want to do anything "bad," but rather, to find my own path that God directed me onto.

Never had one so I took a guess, I was lucky, I could come and go as I liked.

I actually had a really positive HS experience. It was trying to figure out WTF to do after it ended that sucked.

Of these choices, Parents. I immediately left and lived with my grandmother, until in got an invitation from Uncle Sam.

I graduated in 2009 and was married in october of 2010. I couldn't wait to leave my over bearing mother. I didn't really date so I had no curfew, and I didn't mind chores as it gave me something to do between high school college and my two jobs (All to get away from my mother), even now two years later we still aren't close even though we live down the street from each other I don't go see her and she doesn't see us.

I couldn't stand curfews for the life of me. I got two cop cars in my neighborhood that always watch me in cause I miss even a minute over curfew. Which sucks really cause I don't enjoy them doing that. Once the time came that I graduated out of high school, I was so excited, I waved around my middle finger towards the cops and still got busted for doing that anyways. Man, what a time it was in high school.

I never got in any kind of trouble by respecting curfew from my parents.

I was nice to not have to watch the clock.

It feels so great to be able to go anywhere you want and to stay up all you want

None of the above. The answer should have been cliques as said by L122. That was true when I graduated in 1943 and it is today. Been through the cheer-leader-poplular clubs-clique mentality with children and grand-children. some were in and some were out. It was so good to see high school out and college in or work. Young people begin a whole different life after high school unless they get stuck in the high school mentality. Move on high schoolers. It gets better.

Because living in my home town was like a chore, I was glad to leave there.

really none of the above. i moved out on my own at sixteen. so did not have to worry about parents or curfews the last two years of high school. and the chores never went away. there is always something that needs picking up or cleaning. or some type of maintenance.what i was most happy to leave behind is the bullchit.

I didn't have a curfew because I rarely went anywhere. Chores, eh, no biggie. It was my Mom breathing down my back all the time I didn't like, but I'd give anything to go back & have her here getting on my case about anything! :-)

In reality I was most excited to leave behind the ridiculous rules of high school. What a waste of my time.

I had to choose one of the answers,but neither one was I excited about leaving behind after school, because you needed all three of them, when you are growing "Up"! 1.Chores,to teach "Responsibility" 2. Parents,to guide you through "Life" 3. Curfews,because "Bad" things happen at "Night" that's when the "Wicked" comes out! My parents used to say "Be in this house before the "Street" lights come on"!! I smile about it today!

College is way funner especially the parties and no curfew which is great because I'm the type of person that can't sleep until midnight or 1.

none of the above actually. I didn't really have a curfew, chores are a part of life and I lived with my parents until after college. After high school I was just happy to be rid of certain people and be able to expand my horizons in college.

None of the above...it was the insecure, bitchy girls with their cliques and their petty drama.
There was a good reason why I had mainly guy friends in high school.

mom, you've never listened to me as your voice of reason, and i'll be one freaking happy woman when i move out of state, and never have to listen to you again. i tried to protect you and what happened? you sided against me, your oldest daughter! i won't be shocked when your choice to keep that.... alcoholic.... in OUR family gets you killed. when i graduate, oh mother, i am so out of here!
