Also, since one of the defining characteristics of a blockbuster movie is that it makes a lot of money, here's the top 10 worldwide grossing movies of 2012:
1 The Avengers
2 The Dark Knight Rises
3 Skyfall
4 Ice Age: Continental Drift
5 The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2
6 The Amazing Spider-Man
7 Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
8 The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
9 The Hunger Games
10 Men in Black 3
#4, 7, 9, and 10 are not on this list.
The Hobbit managed to hold itself together and Skyfall was decent though it lacked in terms of plot. I can't really choose between the two.
The Amazing Spiderman - Good fun, i'm not a fan of Spiderman but it was a good flick. Rhys Ifans made for a great villain. Not the best, but by far the worst of the year.
Prometheus - The most disappointing film I've ever seen. I went in expecting greatness, I came out with a film that lacked in substance. Most of the acting was strong, but the script sucked and had too many plotholes. I was angry when I came out of it. Shame.
Skyfall - I hate Bond. Enough said.
The Hobbit - It's too long and bloated. Which tends to happen when you make a short book into 3 long films. The film is tedious, and at times hideously boring. That said the performances of Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman were splendid.
The Dark Knight Rises - Great film. But let's face it, if an atomic bomb goes off that close to land... it will kill you. It'd kill Batman, and the entire city of Gotham. A stupid was to end a great series. Solid film though.
The Avengers - Harry Dean Stanton. This is all I need to say.
In reality my two films of the year are Life Of Pi, and The Cabin In The Woods.
like dance movies are; a girl and a boy who both like dancing but for some reason they can't dance together..and they like each other but they can't do anything about that either for some reason...then they end up dancing together, kiss and everyone lives happily ever after.
Romantic movies; Basically the same as dance movies just without the dance.
Action movies; bad guy vs good guy; good guy wins and usually ends up with a girl..
I could go on but I don't think it's necessary.
I also LOVED Djano Unchained. Christopher Waltz was perfection. Why isn't that an option?
