Who knows and who cares....She has hair that is hard to manage...and all the girls wear
their hair back with a lot of clips or hairpins to keep it as tight as possible so that there is no chance it will fall in their eyes....and additionally there is a purpose for the hair worn
that way if it is long hair...it is the same as for ballet dancers...it is so that the "line" of the
body can be seen....So, idiots, learn something about what you are watching and stop making stupid comments...

It was absolutely ridiculous. This beautiful 16 year old Olympic gymnast won the gold medal for her country. Many people responded to this by going on Twitter and blasting her hair. Why? It's simple: She is black. Racism has found its venue to spew its rhetoric while remaining anonymous. That venue is this venue - the internet.

I liked her response to it all, though. She said she has always worn her hair that way while competing, and would continue to in the future.
