The team over at Zap2it compiled a list of 2012’s biggest pop culture disappointments.
They explained, "These are the people, the things, and the moments we looked forward to in 2012 -- only to have our dreams dashed by heartbeakingly underwhelming eventualities. Please join us in a moment of silence for the spectacular pop culture events that were not meant to be in 2012."
Some of Zap2it’s contenders include the lackluster Spice Girls reunion at the London Olympics, the iPhone 5 (and it’s awful map app), and “Smash” (which made “hate-watching trendy”). But then again the Facebook IPO, Britney Spears on “The X Factor,” the overabundance of movie sequels, and pretty much everything related to Lindsay Lohan could not be ignored. Prometheus, easily. TDKR was...okay. Was it a letdown? Sure. But it wasn't unwatchable and it had good moments. The only redeeming feature in Prometheus was the special effects, which is sad because the cast was phenomenal and really working the best with what they were given. Too bad it wasn't the first time I walked out of the theater angry...The Hobbit had me pissed off, too.
