BIG BAD JOHN R. 2012/07/17 13:44:19
Yes, It is very hard that a father could do this to his own son.
No, this never happened.

  • It would seem that not all was right in the Stallone's family circle.
The late Sage Stallone's second cousin, Edd Filiti, reportedly lashed out on Facebook at Sylvester Stallone for failing to stay in contact with his son.

    • filiti reportedly lashed facebook sylvester stallone failing stay contact son

that the website says were posted on Facebook and then removed, Filiti, 18, said Sage called his father to wish him a happy birthday earlier this month, but that dad never called back.

What did he do wrong, say happy birthday,” Filiti reportedly wrote. “Neither you [Stallone’s wife Jennifer Flavin] or he could return a phone call, which is all he wanted, his father. I know you don’t care what happened, but you’ll care when your (sic) squirming under the burning magnifying glass of public opinion.”

Filiti is the son of Stallone’s half-sister, Toni Ann. Jennifer Flavin married Stallone in 1997, ten years after he divorced Sage's mother, Sacha Czack.

Filiti had more unkind words for Flavin.

Well, first of all, besides Sly and Sage, no one knows what type of relationship they had. I can't imagine abandoning my child, but I don't know if that is what Sylvester did. These are Filiti's observations only.
I do know that there are people (I have had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting some right here on this site!) who say their child is "dead to me" due to the fact that they are gay, married outside of their race or just dating outside of their own race, etc.

So, people I guess do have reasons. Stupid, disgusting reasons in my opinion, for "freezing out" their children.

We really have know idea of what "happened" between Sly and his son.

    RIP Sage.

Okay, BIG DEAL his dad didn't return a call. BIG DEAL.

Who knows how long Sly had to support this kid when he was drinking and drugging. Who knows how many times Sly called and Sage couldn't be bothered to talk, or call back.

Good grief. It is NOT a mandate that parents call their kids everyday. And most don't. And since we have no idea WHAT else was going on, how about we just let this one be.

We do not know the internal strife of any family - cannot condemn or applaud without knowledge.

Know a family where one of the sons stole all valuables in the house to pawn for his use, even took his mothers wedding rings - emptied the bank accounts (found the pin numbers in the safe he cracked) - they severed all ties, I call them smart.

Unfortunately this kind of thing happens all too often. Its sad. We, the public, don't really know the whole history or story behind it.

I choose undecided because people go through things and I don't know the details of their relationship. From my own experience, my son's father has frozen him out....thanks to his wife, so things happen in families that others don't know about and these things are painful to talk about with people. I always feel my son's pain, even when he says it doesn't bother him that his dad didn't return his call or he can't stay the night at his house with him. I won't doubt that there was something going on between them....these things happen with fathers and sons but I won't judge Sylvester....I hope he has a clear conscience.

Children ranting on Facebook. For all anyone knows he was just jealous of Sly and venting. There are a lot of legitimate reasons people don't stay in touch, not really anyones place to judge unless they know the whole story and I wouldn't believe Facebook posts as the whole truth. It was a tragedy for his family.

There is no excuse for a parent not being there for their child.

You don't know that he wasn't, one child ranting on FaceBook doesn't make it so. He could think this will be his big break into Sly's or Hollywoods money.

Daddy probably cut off the checkbook. At 36, this guy was still finding himself, after years of drug and alcohol abuse. AND while he made some money in the American Horror market, he needed daddy to live like he wanted to. MAybe, daddy finally had enough.

This is all tabloid/People magazine fodder. I could care less, BUT tend to be in the side of the parents when the kids have been handed EVERY advantage and still tend to be slaggards.

Wrong. There are a lot of reasons. A LOT.

And it happens a fair lot in our society.

Unless you LIVE with this, don't even try to understand it.

Very well said, Bessie. Filiti is only 18, and may not have had possession of all the information or the experience to process it all appropriately. MANY families go through periods of stress/strife..... Adding to this grief in this fashion is a pretty raw deal.
