Awh, why is it just U.S songs? There's great songs from all over the world and we're not all American.... not that I'm having a complaint here. I'm just sayin'.

Should be our National Anthem, instead of that poem about one battle in the single most useless of our early wars that was set to the tune of an old and very pagan English pub drinking song. It’s actually about America: its land, its people, its history, its military heroes, and yes, it invokes God directly.

second place: This Land by Woody Guthrie. I don't know if it's considered a patriotic song or not. I think it is.

The one I always will know by heart is the one where it goes "Well I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free...."

I like any of them if they sound good, and I enjoy other countries' patriotic songs as well, but Yankee Doodle is a childhood favorite.

BUT my all-time favorites are these two Dixie songs. Guess it must be the Southerner in me.

Of course not, but if they're going to put it on the headlines, and not even mention that it's an American biased question, it seems like they're throwing that assumption out there.

There are a lot of questions on SH that are only applicable to certain groups of people. They gave an option for "Other," Those outside of the US could use that if they want to answer.

All the above. Whether it's a good version of the Star Spangled Banner or maybe Ray Charles in front of Congress or just a great rendition from a HS or elementary school or a solo artist on the streets, some of these songs touch me.
They touch me because I love America( not what it's becoming) I have blood spilled for freedoms( no not a purple, not that much blood) and I know patriots, just good people to those no longer with us because they gave their life( lives) for my(OUR) freedom.
God bless them and God bless America
It's why I visit the WA and honor those who gave the ultimate. It';s why I reserve the right to mist up when these songs are sung. because they were scared probably, and they gave all for their brothers and sisters not just American's but such friends they saved them to go on.

Have you forgotten? - Darryl Worley

"I hear people saying, we don't need this war but I think here are some things worth fighting for" - I'm not ever going to bash an entire country but America is despite our many large failures, definitely in the running for best country on earth. I am proud of where I live even though I sometimes may doubt it, gotta face the facts, no place is perfect. I'm happy living in the U.S. then some 3rd world country. Sometimes people simply don't listen to words, and when someone attacks your homeland, you have got to fight back when they are more willing to battle to the death then listen to reason.

None. I refuse to be patriotic for any country. It only promotes selfishness and elitist thinking.

"Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism- how passionately I hate them."

I have two; "The Star Spangeled Banner" by anyone who really knows how to sing it any more, at a sporting event; and "Yesterday" by the Beatles.

Its not really a patriotic song but I love it anyways. We Are The Champions is always one of the American classics. And Carry on my Wayward Son is a theme for Supernatural and I love it too. Its just old classics that get to me. It doesn't have to be patriotic
