I prefer the Winter Games. Here's some artwork by one of my favorite Olympic artists, Bart Forbes.
If you have a local club go try it, it's amazing.
If there aren't any near you, look at your local colleges, many of them have at least a Club and will let non students practice with them.
While you wouldn't be able to compete in College events, most clubs also attend or host United States Fencing Association tournaments that are open to non-students.

Here's a list of clubs in Florida, not sure what part of the state you're in but maybe there's one close.
It's also a great family activity that exercises the Brain as much or more than it does the Body.
Just to warn you if you take it up, be prepared for sore legs.
The stance and movement really work muscles most people never use in other activities.
