My fave is " Morella" he has this wife that is pregnant but she becomes sick and doesn't survive the childbirth so he names his new daughter 'Morella' in her honour and he loves her as she is just like her mother and she ends up dying before him and he goes to bury her with her mother and finds that the mothers body is not there and realises that the mother & daughter were the same person, the same soul, as one together.
Hard to explain, you'd have to read it but I think its beautiful

    The Tall-Tale Heart

The Tell-tale Heart is a very deeply creepy book when the guy starts to scream about the old man.

I'm gonna put your head thru a wall. any wall, you pick the wall

    The Tall-Tale Heart

Ok - now see this topic isn't even fair. If FORCED to choose I'm going to go with the Tell Tale Heart - but it's SO hard to choose! I LOVE THEM ALL! Poe remains an inspiration to my writing to this day! Excellent question.

"The Raven" ... although i love all his stories.
By the way: Does anybody know Alan Parsons "Tales Of Mystery And Imagination Edgar Allan Poe" ? It was this vinyl (i bought it when i was 10 years or so), that drew my attention to E.A. Poe.
