What Is the Scariest Video Game of All Time?

This might sound lame, but I think Metroid Prime was pretty scary.. Then again, I haven't played many "scary" video games.
The part of the game that freaked me out was when you're trying to get off the planet (this happened very early on), and there's weird, zombie like creatures coming after you. There's also really creepy music playing, flashing red lights, and everything shakes at some points.. That music though.. (o_o)"

It happens right after you beat this boss, I think..

I don't play a lot of scary video games either but I watched my uncle and brothers play this game and I was pretty creeped out. Then I tried playing it, I had to stop after 5 minutes because it was a little too much.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask used to freak me out as a kid. The stress of saving the world in only three days from the creepy moon was way too much for me. Not to mention how the ground would start shaking and the music got freaky when the world was about to be demolished.

Oh thank you.. I thought I was the only one freaked out by that.

Oh no, this game used to scare me so much. Especially when everyone in the game started to hide in their houses because they all knew they were going to die.

I have no idea how anyone could find it funny. I thought is was such a dark game.

None of these are "scary" in the traditional sense of the word, but Silent Hill did make me "afraid" of dying and having to start all over again because you often times play a defenseless person in a world filled with weird monsters.

The only time I will play these games is if I shared my bed with someone I can snuggle with.

I really don't know. I've been looking for some really scary ones.

Clive barkers undying was the scariest game that I have ever played. Now I admit that it is an old game and that the graphics are not all that great, but it was really scary the first time that I played it. It was also only on PC, so not as many people saw it in comparison to the games listed above. It is also a lot older.

That game did something that truly creates fear:Complete and total unpredictability.

I can't play the video game "doom 3" without getting scared..

I am currently playing Silent Hill Downpour and it is good. I love the Silent Hill series.

I loved Silent Hill games for the most part, they offered a lot of intense scares!

Another honorable mention for me was "Fatal Frame",

First of all, you get to play as a cute Asain girl, which I've always dreamed of (j/k). Armed with only a camera you go into a haunted mansion full of creepy ghouls to figure out what has happened to your family and attempt to find your little brother. This was a very unique game and still stands out in my head as one of the most interesting survival horror games I've ever played.

I haven't played them all, but out of the ones I have played, Silent Hill was the freakiest.

Would people stop trying to pretend that games as utterly predictable as Dead Space 1 and 2 are remotely frightening in any way?Yeah thanks.

Honestly, Dante's Inferno or whatever it's called really gave me the heebie jeebies. I just find it to be entirely satanic and the first time my cousin brought it into my house, was the last time. Never again.

I thought the Doom series of PC games was pretty scary, but that was back in the ninties...

Diablo.

The only game I ever played that had me a bit freaked out was resident evil part one directors cut...on ps1 it was my first game like that and I was much younger then of course...and it kept me tense not knowing what was around the next door...or what was coming out of the next window.... In my opinion resident evil has went the wrong direction sense part 3..sense that game its all sort of went weird....and not followed the story. The last good resident evil was part 3. I would really like to see part 1 thru 3 remade remastered with current tech and not change the story all that much...just update it... That would be cool.

A remake like a certain one they did for all three would be amazing.
