The London 2012 Summer Olympics are right around the corner, and soon most of the planet will be caught up in the breath-taking athleticism of the world's very best. Though the Olympics are technically a sporting event, they transcend traditional entertainment to become a spectacle of human endurance, willpower, skill, strength... It would take us a while just to cover the basics, so we'll leave it there.

I really like the movie Personal Best, but it's not really an Olympics Movie, and Munich is a post Olympics movie. Chariots of Fire is a clear winner for me.

Actually watched this on TV as it happened--The Jamaican team got a standing ovation and deepest respect from all present that day...We at first thought they were all dead--it took them a long time to get out of the sled...The announcers were saying how wildly popular the Jamacian team was--they were favored to finish in the top 3, or even win the Giold.

Chariots of Fire was the best theme I had ever heard for an Olympic film. It's a beautiful song. I used to play it on the piano all the time years ago. And the story behind the song was an equally good one too. A wonderful movie.

While a lot of things were changed for the movie . Like the other teams being mean to the Jamaicans, and things like that. I really love that movie since it did show people trying to do something most people said they should not even try . As a guy in South Carolina how loved hockey and was never able to play like the message.
