Playing 20 NHL seasons

An impressive career--the most impressive stat is lasting for 20 seasons. The game is quite hard on the human body; Lidstrom must have kept himself in VERY good physical condition.

7 Norris Trophies is pretty damn impressive, but I'm going a different way. Not only did he play 20 NHL seasons, but he did it and still looks good. Here are some other guys that played a ton of NHL hockey. Most of them look like they spent a week making out with a beltsander that explodes every 8 minutes.

And the class and dignity that he carried. This man was a class act and will be sorely missed by hockey fans every where. I was lucky and live in MI so I got to see him play nearly every game. What a great player.

That in addition to two decades of being a true gentleman, both on and off the ice.

Best of luck with whatever you take on Nick, and thank you for the pleasure of watching you play so well a game I love.

I had thought that in these days of roaming players, chasing the almighty dollar that Stevie Y was probably the last guy who would have an extended career playing for the team which drafted him. Nick proved me wrong, and I find it telling that once again it is the Detroit Redwings who inspire that kind of loyalty in their players
