I didn't think anyone snail-mailed anything any more. I am sure if you sent a mushy card or letter to your sweetie's place of work, not only will it be a surprise, it will have a bigger impact than sending an email.

There is something about someone taking the time to write a love letter and sending it via snail mail that is so much more romantic than email. Plus, it is in the lover's penmanship... I've had love letters for over 35 years and it's still wonderful to read them on occasion. It brings back memories...

Snail mail is more Romantic

I would love to get a love letter. :) Never got one through the mail. Or Email, as a matter of fact... But still. It's something to keep and cherish and you don't have to worry if your computer messes up or anything. You can put it in a frame and hang it up. ^-^

Snail mail is more Romantic

Handwritten is more personal than typed text, it's takes more time and effort to do, and it's more sentimental as you can hold it physically and smell the scent of the paper and feel the texture of the paper. Sure it's the thought that counts ultimately but there still is nothing like talking to someone face to face in person instead of over the phone or writing a handwritten letter versus a typed e-mail.

When I was away at college, a boy who really like me kept writing these letters to me. I really didn't feel the same way about him but he was one of these people that just couldn't seem to get it. Anyway, he kept the letters coming and they were nice to receive but he just couldn't accept that it was not going to happen with us. I still wonder sometimes what happened to him.

Either one works. I like the Idea of the nostalgia behind the handwritten one in the mail but the delivery is much faster by email.
