What do you think is better a talking siamese cat or a talking dog?

A friend of mine is trying to decide on a pet siamese cat or a pomeranian dog. I told her to get the siamese cat because it doesn't need as much attention is independent and talks to you. It also loves to eat bbq and thai food.
