I actually wanted to pick the 50's...that was when Rock n Roll got started....at least in my mind it did. To this day I still listen to Buddy Holly, that was talent!!!
and my favorite....True Love ways...
Buddy Holly was the first to use an orchesta in one of his song....and this is beautiful!!!
I said the 60s but I think the best music was from 1965 to 1975. You got the Beatles, Stones, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, The Eagles, The Doors, CCR, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Bad Company, Chicago, Boston, Paul McCartney and Wings...etc....
OK then, name one current band or singer that will make an impact musically like bands of the 60s/70s or early 90s grunge? Metallica is the only one left standing who is relevant musically
Can't believe I clicked Current... Probably one of the biggest musical drought in a while. Every decade has put forth really good music, I can't believe you have a list without the 50's, 40's and 30's. Their music isn't popular but actually the quality was typically higher and the feeling of nostalgia is pretty powerful.
To be honest im kinda big on the old school grunge and metal, and back when hip hop and rap actually had lyrics that werent just repeated. 80's and 70's music was much to ........mellow for me.
I also love the Grundge of the early 90s, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Sound Garden etc created the best music since the 60s-70s era. Metallica was the only bright spot of the 80s in my opinion
