Anything you want, 'cepting Alice. :D I lived in a church for a while after the minister (my late roomie) passed away and I adopted her daughter. Folks used to call me Alice then. I've been thinking about learning that song, even though it has about a zillion words in the lyrics. LOVE it!
Awesome photo of Arlo! Thank you!!! I've decided to learn a few tunes besides my own for a change. Doing Doc Watson's "Deep River Blues" now but I think Arlo's "Alice's Restaurant" may be next. I used to do the "Pickle Song" but can't recall everything about officer Otie and the man with the pickle with the wire going to the suitcase. I love Google! Lyrics everywhere.
Alice's restaurant, The Villager, closed some time back. But you used to be able to get anything you wanted, excepting Alice.........
Until my house fire, the seat inside the front door of the house we used to put boots on or take shoes off was a pew from the church Ray and Alice Brock bought.
He was a cutie, wasn't he! Sittin' on the Group W bench, with father stabbers and mother rapers.... And the biggest, the meanest father raper of them all said, 'Kid, whatcha get?'
Totally cool! I didn't even know about the movie. I've sung the song a zillion times, listened to it even more. Now, I'm gonna have to find a copy of that movie. Thanks for sharing!
And you if you don't want a pickle, you can ride on your motorsickle :-)
