Stunna Shades: Speaking of shooting hoops, San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker, who was also present on the court today for France showed off an interesting pair of protective eyewear. Although we don't want to discredit Parker's ability to make hipster goggles a trend, he was actually wearing them because of the injury he suffered from the Chris Brown andDrake club brawl.

I want to know why it's acceptable to have paid, professional athletes on our basketball team; when all of the other events (and countries) have amateur athletes.

Everyone there is as professional as their sport is/can be for the country involved.

There are other NBA players on other teams, at least 1 that they pointed out during the opening ceremonies. The hockey teams in the winter Olympics are just international contingents from the NHL.

It's a controversial point for reason they've kicked baseball out of the Olympics, that the MLB won't send the stars to compete. It used to be for amateurs, now it's just another big business sport.
