The Los Angeles Kings have finally done it. For the first time in the franchise's 45-year history, the Kings can call themselves the Stanley Cup Champions. While the New Jersey Devils won two straight games after being down 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals, the Kings got the job done in Game 6. Actually, that's putting it lightly because the Kings demolished the Devils by a final score of 6-1.

“Everyone deserves this,” said Kings defenseman Drew Doughty, following the team's dominant Cup victory. “We got used to each other, we developed a chemistry, and we just went sailing from there.” The Kings' whopping six goals should be considered more impressive than they really are because they came against legendary Devils goalie Martin Brodeur.

Speaking of goalies, Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick was awarded the prestigious Conn Smythe Trophy for his outstanding series performance following Game 6. Not bad for a team that nearly missed the playoffs, eliminated the top three seeds, went 12-2 en route to the finals, and brought the city of LA its first Stanley Cup. Were you rooting for the Los Angeles Kings? Are you happy they won the Stanley Cup?

A lot of blood, sweat, and effort went into this game, alone.

After their 40 plus years of a dry spell, The LA Kings deserved to be the last team standing.

Way to go Kings, and fans.

Hehee....I know I was sitting at the glass! The fun thing was they were extremly physical and it was clean legal stuff for the most part. I'm not a huge hockey fan but do love being there for a game like that. My buddy who has the seats was so excited that alone was worth the price of admission!

I do respect the kings. They play defense well, without resorting to cheap hits.

Hockey games are a thrill to see in person, Let alone during the playoffs. I saw the Devils/Rangers Game 1 at MSG. Best time of my life! It might have made my wallet cry; but you never know when you'll get that opportunity again.

    Lol....The Devils/Rangers sounds fun!

I hear you! I flew from LA to NYC a few years ago to see Cream play at MSG. My wallet cried but my soul was full!

Hhahaa....It was worth the price of admission for sure! It was nothing short of amazing how well Jack Bruces voice had held up and Ole Ginger can still bang the Tom Toms!

Great series....The Devils took themselves out of the final contest on a very stupid penalty by boarding their opponent for a 5 minute major, allowing the Kings to tally 3 goals during the 5 minute major. The other 5 games were great entertainment for hockey purists and the stumbled upon audience. Congrats to the LA Kings, well deserved champions!

A very small part of it! The Kings had a tripping call and out defensed them during that power play.

It was 3 to 0 by the end of the 1st period. The Kings came to win and did!

I would venture to say it was a large part of it.

Either why good teams find a way to win. Especially over 7 games.

Yes, but it's not to say the Devils are not very good! But by the end of the 1st period it was very apparent the Kings just wanted it more!

That was about as clear cut a Boarding call as you're going to get. They've been calling that all year.

It's sorta like in every sport. I don't think it was clear cut. Even then in championship games calls slide in any sport.

Let me add.. it was a great series.
