Were Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan out of touch leading up to election day?

The American people are! About half of them.

If the question is to imply that they were out of touch with people who do not work, who do not pay any taxes, that want government to supply them a free lunch from cradle to grave; the answer must be yes. It the question is to mean out of touch with those who shoulder the burden of paying for the parasites ‘free ride’ the answer is a resounding NO.

They were at a terrible disadvantage in that they could not go around promising free health care, more food stamps, housing bailouts, etc; in essence and in fact, buying votes with federal funds.

A point to ponder , 9 million fewer people voted for Obama this time around than in 2008, so it ain't a landslide, it was more like some saw the light but not enough.

When his wife goes around saying "you people" and then says how they struggled and had to eat pasta when they were first married and then later said that they never wanted for anything and he talked about elevators for his cars and his wife's two Cadillacs? I'm sorry but I don't identify with someone like that and he constantly pointed out the differences and income inequality in this country. He talked down to me. He does not have a clue what real America is all about. We dodged that bullet.
I think the Romney/Ryan ticket truly thought they were going to win so weren't really sensitive to the 99%.

They just set back and let the voters use their commonsense . They should have brought up all the really bad points Obama and company had done but chose not to. That was McCain's failure too. You don't win a fight by being nice to aggression.

Problem with both was, after you cut through the right wing garbage that had been "manufactured", neither McCain OR Romney had much to say, with any legitimacy. The wingnut lies had already been destroyed in the minds of the "thinking" voters and (to paraphrase), "anything they said would be used against them". Open mouth, insert foot.
