At 22, Taylor Swift has won six Grammys (including Album of the Year), landed in the Guinness Book of World Records (twice), sold 40 million albums, and been ranked the "7th most powerful celebrity" by Forbes. She's a pretty big deal. Contributing a song to the upcoming "Hunger Games" movie almost seems like a favor, with a measly 2.9 million copies of the book in print. But that's what she did.

Her latest single, "Safe & Sound," is off of "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, and though the movie is still more than a month away (March 23), she's already got a music video for it. The song features Nashville folk duo The Civil Wars and is produced by Bob Dylan alum T-Bone Burnett; the video is dreamy and ambient. It's a little more rural than her usual, but fits comfortably into her catalogue. Let us know what you think!

First heard it when I saw the video on VH1. At first I was like, 'Is that Taylor Swift? It looks a lot like her.' Then I was like, 'I like this song. This band is good! I gotta figure out who does this song and add it to my playlist.' Then at the end of the video I saw it was Taylor Swift. I really thought it was a new band or something. O.o

Excellant. She has outdone herself. The video perfectly captures the look and feel of the books. I'm looking forward to the whole HG soundtrack album, which looks really interesting.

I'm a big fan of the Hunger Games and Taylor Swift so when I heard that she made a song for the movie I was so excited to see the music video... I'm not gonna lie... it wasn't very exciting... but Taylor Swift's voice is so awesome it doesn't matter what the video was :D

I loved the music video! The song was like a lullaby and if she made the music video all crazy then you would be more distracting with the music video itself than the music. Taylor Swift should do more songs like this and I loved that The Civil Wars was in it because they just made the song so much prettier. I love both these artists and they did nicely collaborating with each other.

If I made a music video that song it would have been almost exactly what I would do. I love the imagery--the woods, the fire, the shack. It's got that eerie, dark vibe the song itself has. I think it's wonderful. It's very different from her usual kind of cutesy vids. The video perfectly fits the lyrics, what she's dressed up in and how her hair is goes great with it too. I love the part at the end when the mood kind of lifts and she glances at the deer and it like fades to dust. Great symbolism. She's so pretty with no makeup, too.

oh, and for those who call he song bland, you do have to remember it was written for a specific scene in the movie, and it fits perfectly for that scene. maybe it's not extremely marketable or top chart material but for those who know the backstory it's just amazing :D and although i'm not a taylor fan i have to say she delivered, even in her look, which i personally think is far better than the washed up barbie blond thing she usually has going on. she looks more believable and less plastic in this video :D
