Arcade Fire released a somewhat interactive music video for "We Used To Wait" in 2010, called "The Wilderness Downtown." The band promptly won the Grammy for Best Album that year, and several bands have tried to expand on its success. For their latest music video, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are taking a page from the same book, turning "Look Around" into a panoramic four-piece interactive video. It not quite as involved as Arcade Fire's, but it's certainly more interesting than a typical video.
Basically, the clip is made up of four separate videos, each depicting a band member performing his part of the song in a different room. The viewer is able to cycle between the different rooms at will, making it impossible to catch everything there is to see in one, or even three views. You might watch Anthony Kiedis for a couple of minutes, then switch back to Flea and discover he's now naked (not that it happened to us or anything.) Check out the Red Hot Chili Peppers video for yourself and let us know what you think about this new form of music video.
