Caine's Arcade might not have the glitz of your local Dave and Buster's, but it has something no chain arcade will ever have -- the heart of a 9-year-old boy. When Caine first built a cardboard arcade in the front room of his dad's East L.A. used auto parts shop, he was happy to get a single customer. Luckily, that first customer had a plan.
When filmmaker Nirvan Mullick stumbled upon the 9-year-old's creation, he was so intrigued he decided to promote it with a viral video. To do it, Mullick created a "flash mob" event on Facebook, and it quickly hit the front page of Reddit. Since then, Caine has raised more than $80,000 -- enough to set up a scholarship fund. But we couldn't do his story justice with words. You have to watch the video -- and then let us know: Would you play at Caine's Arcade?

The Elitist Libtard SodaJerk 2012/04/12 00:05:16Yes+14It's a great story until the Government finds out and shuts him down for operating without a permit.

1. The kid decides to build a cardboard box arcade that any child could do, and is labeled a "genius": it's not so uncommon, I use to build cardboard games that you can insert into a cardboard box and imagine that it's a real Nintendo system.
2. The kid meets a right person, who knows the right people, and his life changes and he get's a scholarship; what about people/children who actually put out substantial ideas and nothing comes from it? Just because they don't know the right people, they are doomed to never have their dreams fulfilled?
3. All of these people come to this arcade to support the child, but how many people supports real problems that need real solutions to solve? How many of those people would get together to make sure no one in their city became homeless? How many of those people would make sure no one went hungry in their community? How many of those people would work together to prevent crime in their community? Yet, they will go to a child's arcade that many other children have done in one way or another, and label him a "genius" and everything; why? Because there's no real thought behind it? No real action? Sigh.
4. Perhaps people would find my outlook bitter, and the like: but they are really what I see when I view this video.
Take care,
maybe for you the right people where the ones that hired you at the mcdonalds you now work at
i dont think the video was about feeding the homeless, and fighting crime and if you paid attention they broadcasted to 1/4 of a million people on just ONE site of the many they posted on, and look at how many actually showed up,,, whens the last time you went on reddit or facebook and seen soup kitchen taking volunteers, and somehow they are always booked with willing people.
look at how many pointless inventions made people rich, even the pet rock guys still making some cash and having hos products sell...
If you want to live that way go live in the desert, and take your savage buddies with you.
