This past NHL season has been very, very good for the New York-New Jersey area. That good luck extended its way to the playoffs, where fans saw the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils go at it in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Devils won the series and advanced to yet another Stanley Cup Final -- adding to the handful of appearances in the team's illustrious history.
The Rangers of course, still had a great season and were the closest to reaching the Stanley Cup Finals in recent memory. The Devils play at “The Rock,” formally known as the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, which is not too far at all from New York City. That didn't stop the New York media from getting such a simple thing wrong. You see, on a recent ABC7 Eyewitness News broadcast, there was a major flub...
When the sportscaster was discussing the Stanley Cup Finals between the Kings and the Devils, the graphic on the top right corner said “Islanders – Kings.” As in the New York Islanders, who compared to the Devils and Rangers, haven't come anywhere close to the success their tri-state counterparts have had. To make matters worse, even the text on the lower third graphic had “Islanders – Kings.” Something tells us that Eyewitness News graphics operator doesn't watch much hockey—or read the newspaper that often.

You don't have to know about hockey - - you must have to be able to read - - and the people putting the prompter information together, do their jobs!
But not as intensely as I used to be able to do since my cable company turned cable meany and took my CBC channel away from me for no reason...I MISS DON CHERRY COACH'S CORNER HNIC
