Lady Gaga angered Little Monsters all over Thailand on Thursday when she tweeted, "I just landed in Bangkok baby! Ready for 50,000 screaming Thai monsters. I wanna get lost in a lady market and buy fake Rolex." Though she made a similar comment about Hong Kong when she toured there, many Thai fans took it as an insult.

According to Yahoo!, Thai people wrote things like: "We are more civilized than you think," and "She came to our home, but instead of admiring us she insulted us." One fan even wrote, "Welcome to the land of counterfeit products, love. I'm sure there are plenty of fake Gaga CDs, too." Do you think Lady Gaga's comment was insensitive, or just a harmless remark?

Right on, we do live in a phony fake pretend world, that little world is growing, choking out the rest of us, our freedom of speech, freedom to express our thoughts. Oh, please. I've spent a decent amount of time in Thailand, and it's difficult to walk around in the more touristy areas without someone selling an "Armani" suit or fake Nike's every other block or so. They don't take no for an answer easily, and they also make no attempt to remember if you said no the last time you passed them. I'm sure there are Fake Gaga CD's. Instead of being insulted, why not try to clean up the counterfeit products?

The poll question is: ..."was the comment offensive?" One can be 'honest' & offensive at the same time. You can be all the thai you want but many of your compatriots found it offensive. Coincidentally she is a dumb frivolous bitch, her lack of tact comment honors that.

I agree. But governments of Thailand & other countries have been accused of covering up counterfeit and illegal activities. So her tactless comment was very rude demonstrating her total ignorance on international affairs & diplomatic ways.
