Award shows always have their winners and losers. And just as expected as the tearful acceptance speech is the morning after's tough critique of the show host.
This year, however, the consensus is that Jimmy Fallon did a decent job hosting the Emmys. Some even ventured to say he was pretty good.
Time magazine declared: "The welcoming, eager-to-please Fallon was a success," while the Los Angeles Times said that Fallon "played to his own strengths." Although the fan-generated Twitter-jokes-stunt mostly fell flat, and according to The Hollywood Reporter Fallon "didn't stay sharp as the evening wore on," no one could argue with his hilarious, spot-on musical skits.
In one, Fallon sang a musical tribute to a handful of shows that were going off the air. Doing a flawless Elton John impersonation, Fallon sang the praises of "24" to the tune of "Candle in the Wind." Fallon then did equally impressive versions of Boyz II Men's "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye" (to "Law and Order") and Green Day's "Time of Your Life," during which he sang the praises of the late, great "Lost."
However, the uncontested, buzziest moment of the show arrived right at the top, when Fallon joined forces with the fabulous kids from "Glee" in assembling an Emmy night song-and-dance club to perform Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." Galloping down crowded backstage hallways, the energetic gang managed to recruit Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Jane Lynch, Jorge Garcia and, against their better judgment, Kate Gosselin. They made their way onto the stage, where a guitar-shredding Randy Jackson joined in, bringing the number to a triumphant finish. And the crowd, fittingly, went wild.

His greenday and Jack from lost impressions were spot on!
love him!
But I loved the opening number, that was funny. And the Billie Joe Armstrong/Green Day thing was funny. It's the true the other stuff wasn't nearly as funny.
Although he did start off pretty funny.
