He was getting the wins. Yes the NBA season is long but you can't go 1-4 and be okay the the year before and keep your job.

1-4 big whoop. the lakers are the yankees of basketball. buy their team and if they dont do well theyre all bums and the fans boo. its unfair to fire a coach only after 5 games when theres 82 in the season.

Not only a 1-4 start, but an 0-8 preseason. Bring Phil back

The Lakers are an old and aged team, that are lethargic and without much motivation.Kobe and others should be the ones leaving the team or they will certainly end up in the cellar, and will very likely end up as the worst team in the league this year anyway.

Nope the Lakers are greedy & impatient.Just like George & the Yankees..They can't wait two seconds for anything. He got Lebron to the Finals first. Took time. Selfish Move

The only thing I know is that, as a Laker fan I am on hiatus until Kobe is off the team.

Not really. I didn't know what to think of the hire in the first place. They shoulh have hired Brain Shaw to follow up Phil. But I would have given him this year to finish out. At least a month or two. I think he would have gotten it worked out by then.

he should never have been brought back for the job in the first place..Kobe runs the club and he didn't like him..No one will be able to coach without his approval (:

Not after the season had already started, now the team is going to struggle even more with a new coach, even if they bring Phil. They should of waited another season,,but then again kobe is not getting younger neither is Nash and pau.

Brown was introducing an entirely new offense to people who have played a long time and played well. Bad move on Brown's part.

Laker management could take a hint from the Heat organization. They threw the big three together and yet it still took those guys almost half a season to gel. Even after they seemed to get it together, they lost in their first year in the finals. We know how it turned out just last season. Point is you just cant throw a squad together, have some of them miss the pre-season and then think that everything's gonna come out great!

Though the blame is not totally his, he was not living up to expectations. Simple.

Kobe gets what Kobe wants, so the coach was fired.

    Inmates are running the asylum

Kareem was quoted yesterday as saying that no one needed to panic until January

Mike Brown is terrible. The minute I saw Steve Nash walking up the court, I knew Mike Brown wasn't going to last long this season. I've been a Mavs fan for long enough to know that Steve Nash has no business walking his way up and down the court.
