Many songs have been re-made over the years and few do it as good or better than the original. Although I am a serious Hendrix fan, I believe the late Stevie Ray Vaughn actually did it better than the Legend that is HENDRIX.

My apologies to such a dedicated fan for my misspellings.
Enjoy
RIP to both of these true guitar legends
R.I.P. to BOTH of them.
P.S. a REAL Jimi fan would know how to spell his freakin' NAME!
Not only that, there is a wider education of different types of music that have influenced great guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughn. I love Stevie's version and believe it would make Jimi proud. Having said that, I've also seen Kenny Wayne Shepherd to a kick-ass version live of Voodoo Child (Noah Hunt on vocals): KWS is an amazing blues guitarist as well does not get nearly the attention he deserves.
That being said, I'll stick with the original.
I'm a broken record today since I replied this same way to another poster! Have you seen Kenny Wayne Shepherd play this song? I saw him to it live on more than one occasion. Noah Hunt is on the vocals here. Also as far as guitarists go, are you familiar with Joe Bonamassa. Definitely not overrated! I did cast my vote for Jimi though since the creativity behind any other artist's embellismenets can not be denied.
Nice avatar BTW
Thanks... nothing better then golf and ass :)
